Synthetic full backup failed. Application is shutting down.
I follow this thread because this weekend I had the same message of "Synthetic full backup failed": the error was "Application is shutting down".
How can this be appened? And now, what I have to do to make the full backup run again?

Solved (with the help of the Support) with this steps:
1. Installedthe latest patch for VeeamBR from here http://www.veeam.com/kb2024
2. In the Veeam console, in "Backup Infrastructure" then "Backup Repositories". Find the repository in the list to the right then right-click > Properties. Go to the "Repository" tab and check the box next to "Limit combined data rate to:" and set to 80 MB/s
