Synthetic full vs Active full

Post by kdorsainvil »

We are backing up to a Data Domain. And I wondering is it better to create an active full or use Synthetic Full?

Thanks

Hi,

We have an DD2500 and we have found that active full is faster.
But with active full you get more load on your production storage...

Provided you have DD Boost, synthetic fulls should give you good performance, but only actual tests will tell for sure.
