Hello,
I just started to install Veeam Backup and Replication to backups my VMs running on ESXi 4.1.
I was wondering if chosing Incremental backup mode with synthetic fulls each day of the week is a good solution.
Could someone give me some advice as I have no experience with this software ?
Thanks,
Eric.

Re: Synthetic fulls...frequency ?
If you're new to our software, I highly recommend looking through sticky F.A.Q. topic, that should cover all basic questions you may have:
>>> READ THIS FIRST : [FAQ] FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS <<<
As to you question, basically, you want to stick to a weekly incremental schedule with Synthetic Fulls enabled on the weekend, that should be the most optimal solution, but of course everything depends on your internal backup policy (if any).

Re: Synthetic fulls...frequency ?
Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
I guess the backup/restore policy will be to always have a full backup for a quick restore.
I suppose reversed incremental (with no active full backup then ?) would be the solution ?
Eric

If you don't have such a requirement (run a Full backup on a specific time schedule), then yes, Reversed Incremental mode should be the right choice, as your VBK file will always be full recovery file of the latest restore point.
