Tags retention

Hi, quick question for clarification on tags.

In a backup job of a VDC, if we delete a VM from within this VDC, VBR will handle the expiration of backup data according to retention. That part works just fine.
Question is, if we use tags for the backup job, instead of selecting a VDC, will VBR handle expiration in the same way?

I suspect it would, just need confirmation.

yes, retention is handled the same way no matter which way for selection of machines was chosen before.
