Hello together,
I have a short question concerning the migration of Socket to VUL license.
We are currently in the process of migrating our old socket based perpetual license to VUL (with upgrade to Data Platform Foundation from Socket Essentials), meaning we have ordered the migration but have not yet received the new license file. When that new file is available, can I just add it into the console (and then remove the socket license since the support of that one ran out at the beginning of the week)? Or would I have to remove the socket license first before I can import the new one? I have looked in the user guide, but I haven't found this case described in there (or I missed it somehow).
Best regards
Daniel

Re: Technical question about Migration from Socket to VUL license
Hi Daniel,
Yes, you can install the new license in the backup console.
The socket license can be removed either before or after installing the VUL license. When you click on "remove," you'll have the option to select to remove only the socket license. I recommend to first install the VUL license and then remove the socket license.

Best,
Fabian

Hi Fabian,
thank you for the fast response. I will then go ahead with your recommendation when the new license is available.
Best regards

Re: Technical question about Migration from Socket to VUL license
Hi Fabian,
I just wanted to give a short feedback since I got the new license file just now. I did it like you suggested (first importing the new license and then removing the socket one) and it worked without problems as described.
Thanks again.
Daniel
