I am troubleshooting an application issue and I'd like to temporarily remove a VM from a backup job that runs every night.
Other than removing the VM and re-adding it after troubleshooting is complete, is there a way to accomplish this?
Thanks,
David.

David, you'd better temporarily add the VM to exclusions, otherwise the full VM backup will be performed on re-adding it back. Thanks.

Foggy, I did try that but it doesn't allow me to add it.
I have the VM added explicitly and not as part of a container.

Re: Temporarily remove a VM from backup job?
Yep, sorry for confusion. If the VM is added explicitly, you cannot add it to exclusions. So the only way seems to remove it from the job and then add it back. If VM maintenance does not affect its mo-ref ID (it is not re-registered in VI), then it will continue to be backed up normally. If mo-ref changes or the full backup for this job is performed before the VM is added back, be prepared for the full backup of this VM during the next job run.
