Hello,
I would like to know if it's safe to restore veeam backup configuration to new server and delete it after the test ?
I don't know what Veeam will update on respository, tape server, .... and I would like to be sure this test is "safe" and will not break everything after I delete this server to the first one.
If it's not a good idea, how can I do to test it ?
Thanks

Re: test restore veeam backup configuration to new server
Hi Matteu
I recommend to test configuration restore in an isolated network. The new backup server will take over ownership over managed server with remote components or object storage repositories if they are reachable. Tape server as an example can only be managed by a single backup server and not two at the same time.
Restore test in an isolated network should give you enough clarity if the BCO file is consistent and can be restored to a new backup server.
Best,
Fabian
