Test & Validation Plan Template for several Backups & Recovery
hi, i am looking for a Veeam document in word or excel or other format that talks about tests done as in 'pass/fail/approved, etc.' type of columns as in a 'test and validation plan' deliverable. Any references or pointers? Thanks

Re: Test & Validation Plan Template for several Backups & Recovery
To add to this request, i would be adding several tests use cases in the same 'excel or doc' with their results (pass/fail) for other Veeam products as well such as VB for Azure and VBM 365, and VCCE/VSPC replication jobs. I just don't want to reinvent the wheel if such a POC test plan (Backups & Restore Tests of various types) already exists in some form. Thx.

Hi Aman
I don't have a excel file for you, but I can share with you how you can use our products to achieve automated testing and reporting.
In Veeam Backup & Replication, configure SureBackup/SureReplica jobs.
You can verify your backups with automated testing (Does it power on, Is network reachable, is my application consistent, customer test scripts).
Then use Veeam One to create a report for your SureBackup/SureReplica sessions:
- Recovery Verification Overview: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/r ... ml?ver=120
- Verified VMs: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/r ... ml?ver=120
And with Veeam Recovery Orchestrator, you can create and test those recovery plans.
A report can be generated which will tell you which steps in the plan were successful and what the expected RTO will be:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vro/u ... tml?ver=70
Best,
Fabian

Re: Test & Validation Plan Template for several Backups & Recovery
Hi Fabian. Yes, i fully agree with that approach and in fact it's the right/best approach also as it shows the value-add of the Veeam Products deployed onprem for this enterprise customer. It's just that they are asking a template of tests that i would be running and following ahead of time (ahead of deployment of these products). So, the test plan should speak for itself as in type of tests i would be doing (IRV, file/folder level restores, physical servers, DB restore, etc. etc. This is not just for normal VBR but has to be very comprehensive that includes for M365 (exchange/one drive) backups/tests, VB for Azure, and finally VCCE/VSPC (for service providers). I have the RPTO's and what all nees to be done with success criteria. These V1 reports i can do only after the products with backup jobs, etc. have all been deployed. They want to see the test plan ahead of time. I have a template i use for VBR but not for others yet, so that's why i was seeing if it's out there by any chance.
