Testing File/Item Restore from Backup Copy
I just recently got our backups saved offsite with a backup copy job. I also have local backups as well obviously. I want to test restoring a file or Exchange item from our Backup Copy, but when I run the restore wizard it seems like it doesn't give me a choice, and I'm assuming it's using the local copy. I'd like to test restoring from the backup copy though. How do I go about this?

When starting the restore wizard, are you selecting the backup produced by the backup copy rather than the original backup job?

Re: Testing File/Item Restore from Backup Copy
Do I select the backup copy job first and then click the restore wizard? I always thought the restore wizard would let me choose where I wanted to pull from?

Re: Testing File/Item Restore from Backup Copy
That restore wizard currently doesn't show points created by backup copy jobs, so, you should go to backup node and select restore point explicitly. According to the plan, this behaviour will be addressed in version 9. Thanks.

Thanks for the update. Is v9 expected to be out in 3rd or 4th quarter this year?
