Thanks very much to the team at Veeam for a great release in R2.

Has solved all of our outstanding issues around Server 2012 R2 etc.

Also very impressed with how quickly support for vSphere 5.5 has been released.

What a great product!

Cheers,
Gavin

Thank you Veeam, every time a sale person calls from another backup solution provider and they list all the backup, disaster recovery and replication issues their new product solves, I can just say that Veeam solved those issues for me already plus a bunch more, bye. I had one today who was hard to hang up on who start to tell me how easy it “would” be to restore an Exchange mail box item, when I said Veeam already lets me do that in under 5 minutes, then they hung up. I just feel bad for people who haven’t found Veeam.

Veeam 6.5 full backup - 21 hours

venerdì 15 novembre 2013 19:30:18
Success 35 Start time 19:30:18 Total size 5,3 TB Backup size 1,3 TB
Warning 0 End time 16:41:02 (+1) Data read 4,1 TB Dedupe 1,3x
Error 0 Duration 21:10:43 Transferred 1,4 TB Compression 2,4x

Veeam 7.0 R2 full backup - 10 hours (same hardware, same proxy, 6 VM more)

Friday, November 22, 2013 4:26:19 PM
Success 41 Start time 4:26:19 PM Total size 5.7 TB Backup size 1.6 TB
Warning 0 End time 3:05:41 AM (+1) Data read 4.4 TB Dedupe 1.6x
Error 0 Duration 10:39:21 Transferred 3.5 TB Compression 2.2x

Thanks Veeam! :D

BTW, there is one thing that I found strange in the two reports: Veeam 6.5 reported 1,4 TB transferred, Veeam 7.0 R2 reported 3,5 TB :?:

Transferred is known bug in R2 statistics. As you can see, backup file size is still about the same, give or take newly added VMs size.
