Hi
I found an interesting word on the 9.5 Update 4a release notes.
https://www.veeam.com/kb2926
---------
New Japanese era compatibility. 新元号対応済み
---------
New Japanese era will start on May 1, 2019.
We use to think that New Japanese era don't affect Veeam behavior.
Does Veeam 9.5 Update 4a earlier versions become unavailable from May 1, 2019 ?
Let me know.
Regards
Toshi

Re: The meaning of "New Japanese era compatibility" in 9.5 Update4a
Hello Toshi,
it is only relevant if you are using Japanese calendar. Gregorian calendar is not affected.
U4a is the only version that was fully tested new era Japanese calendar. Older versions may work, but were not tested and thus are not supported.
If you are using the Japanese calendar, the recommendation is to move to U4a. We are not aware of any issues today. It's just "to be save".
Just as a side note: non-Gregorian calendar settings are only for interactive users (the user running the GUI / console). Per default Veeam services run with local system. Local system does not use non-Gregorian calendars (well, there seem to be some ugly ways to do that).
Does that help?
Best regards,
Hannes

[MERGED] New Japanese era compatibility
Hello,
The following release notes say "New Japanese era compatibility".
https://www.veeam.com/kb2926
Are there any problems with Update 3 or Update 4 due to the change of the Japanese era?
Thanks,
Yuya
