Thoughts on Different VEEAM Replication Cloud Providers

Post by cffit »

I am currently researching two options for offsite backup/replication:

1. VMware's DRaaS
2. VEEAM Backup/Replication Cloud Provider

I was looking for thoughts on people that are currently using or have used a VEEAM cloud provider for backup and/or replication. Which providers are you using and are you happy with them? There are a lot more now than there were 6 months ago and I'm curious to get input from users on here. The people in this forum are great to share ideas with and I can't think of a better place to get honest information on this.

Thanks!

Hi Christensen, you may want to include your country or at least region.

For US, regarding Backup solutions you should look at our lookup portal here:

http://www.veeam.com/service-provider-lookup.html

The listed providers are already offering our new Cloud Connect solutions for offsite backups. For each provider you can see which options they are offering and a direct link to their offer.

The portal is great but I would also like to hear any real world experience of the providers?

As someone who doesn't need a totally live DR site the ability to have a Veeam Repository in the cloud but in the event of an "DR event" use that provider to restore into cloud is quite attractive.

I don't have yet feedback on Cloud Connect since it has gone GA less than a month ago, but I know for sure some of them are also offering the additional service you are talking about, that is to read your backups that you are saving there, and from there start a restore of the VMs at their own infrastructure.

As part of Veeam, I can't suggest one of them over the others, so I will let other customers give a feedback on them. Or you can use the trail period they are offering to check yourself.

Yes, I've seen the list, but I was hoping to get some input from forum members as to which ones they are using and if they are happy with them. Also, I'm looking for a cloud service to replicate to, not just backup. It seems there are a lot of backup solution providers, but not many replication ones. Using the VEEAM provided page listing cloud solution providers, I've found that many of them that are listed for replication only do backup, at least right now.

I'm trying to compare VMware's DRaaS to a cloud solution that works with VEEAM for offsite replication.
