Post by aalmeidadc » 9 people like this post

After the upgrade from version 6.5 to 7.0 of Veeam B&R I decided to share with the Veeam´s Fellows :D the comparison of time and size of backups between both versions.

Incremental

Veeam B&R 6.5 Infrastructure

1 Veeam B&R Server ( 6 vCPU, 16GB)
1 Veeam B&R Proxy ( 6 vCPU, 16GB)

Options
- One proxy per Job
- Compression Level: High

Veeam B&R 7.0 Infrastructure

1 Veeam B&R Server ( 6 vCPU, 16GB)
3 Veeam B&R Proxy ( 4 vCPU, 8GB)

Options
- Two proxys per Job
- Compression Level:Optimal (4 x less CPU and a little size´s increment at some Backup Jobs )
- Parallel Processing Enabled

Personal Opinion: Veeam B & R 7.0 is currently the Top Dog of backup softwares for virtual environments.

Nice! Going from over 24 hours to 10 hours makes all the difference for daily backups ;)
André, I assume you have about 10TB of source data to backup? Thanks for sharing!
