[Veeam 9.5u 4] To notify Veeam of backup result using Oracle RMAN Plugin

Hi,

I am installing Veeam 9.5 Update 4 now and testing the Oracle RMAN Plugin.
I confirmed that the RMAN Plugin works without any problems and that you can perform basic backup and restore.

However, backup using RMAN Plugin did not receive email notification of success, failure, or warning.
Is it not specification that mail notification is not done?

Hello Asahi.

Successful email notifications were disabled by default to make sure that Veeam B&R won't kill you mailbox due to email report being generated every RMAN job run. Try to add the following registry key to Veeam B&R registry hive.

Code: Select all

Key name: PluginEmailNotifications

Values: 

Value: 0 = disable all
Value: 1 = disable success (default if key is not present)
Value: 2 = disable success, warnings
Value: 3 = disable success, failed
Value: 4 = enable all

Currently, I am adding a registry key and testing it.
I tried to add it to the following registry pass, but no e-mail notification is made.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication
Type ： DWORD
Values : 3

Is the hierarchy I add wrong?

Asahi,

The regkey requires global email notification option to be configured. Can you please double check that it's enabled in Veeam B&R console? Thanks!

EDIT: My bad, I missed one value for the key. If the email notification is configured you need to set value to 4 to get all notifications including successful ones.

is it possible to customize the notification recipient for the RMAN job?

It seems to work only with the recipients included in Veeam B&R general options..

Unfortunately that's not possible since Veeam B&R does not control RMAN jobs. Cheers!
