Hey,
I'm running Veeam 6.1 as just upgraded from 5 which has been running fine for 12 months. I noticed when doing the upgrade I didn't have Application Consistent Backups checked, either VSS or VMware Tools quiescence so I wanted to get this sorted but need some help.
I have a mixture of Windows and RHEL VMs. I have them split into 5 different jobs per department and the majority are separate Windows and Linux jobs but a couple are mixed. For the Windows jobs I can just tick the application aware option, give it a username and also select don't truncate logs as I have a couple of SQL servers which are backed up with maint scripts anyway. All good, but the Linux jobs confuse me.
A few of our RHEL VMs run Oracle DB. Can I just enable VMware Tools quiescence for these jobs and have it correctly backup these servers like the crash consistent ones in the past, or do I need pre/post scripts to do it? I have zero oracle experience so need some guidance on this.
Thanks,
Andy
