Hey all,
I have a full volume and would like to implement GFS on my regular backup job (not backup copy). After adjusting the settings, is it possible to force just the GFS part of the backup job to run so it will compact these backups and free up some space?

This is not possible. You would have to free up some space to continue performing backups with GFS retention.
