Troubleshooting Backup & REplicate Community Edition
Good Morning,
I tried several time to install Veeam Backup & replicate community Ediition 9.5 update 4.b (Just downloaded de ISO ). The installation process always failed with message
Failed to execute steup extensions, this message appear when Installing Veeam Backup & Replication Server. Which procedure do I follow to get more information on how to track and solved the problem ?
But first I need VEEAM because on of my friend send me a VBK files of 2 VMS that I want to restore. Do I need to install Backup&Replicate or I can use another extemsion under windows just to restore the backup ?
Thank you,
Sylvain

Re: Troubleshooting Backup & REplicate Community Edition
Hi Sylvain, welcome to the community!
It's hard to troubleshoot through the forum. You can review a deployment guide maybe some prerequisites are not met.
You can use a native tool called Extract Utility that can recover machines from backup files without interaction with Veeam Backup & Replication.
Thanks!

Re: Troubleshooting Backup & REplicate Community Edition
Hi,
Nice to know that I can use a self extracting utility, but I can't install Backup & replicate so I can't access the utility from the installation folder !.
Is it possible to download somewhere the Veeam.Backup.Extractor.exe file ?
Thank you for your precious time,
Sylvain

You can contact the support team by phone or through the portal even with the free version of the product.
Have you checked the system requirements for Backup Server?
Thanks!

You can copy Extract utilities directly from installation ISO without installing the product.
Open ISO:\Backup\VBR_SRV.cab with your archival utility of choice(I use free 7zip) and copy said files to disk.
Hope that helps!
