Truncating Logs on Transaction Log Backup
Hello,
I have Question about the truncating Scenario on a Transaction Log Backup.
When are the Logs truncated? Afer every Transaction Log backup or after a normal VM Backup Job ?
In this Link it looks like after the Transaction Log Backup -> http://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/80/h ... ation.html
But in this Link it says after normal VM Backup Job -> http://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/80/v ... ql_vm.html
So iam not sure and for know it looks like its just truncating when the normal VM Jobs runs, in my environment.
Best Regards

Re: Truncating Logs on Transaction Log Backup
Hi, Arthur, log truncation will still occur during the normal job run. Thanks.

Re: Truncating Logs on Transaction Log Backup
Vladimir, an additional question again.
Just to understand it, if I choose periodically Transanction Log Backup, the truncation will not occur after each Transaction Log Backup lets say 15 Minutes interval, right ?
So when the truncation occurs after each normal backupjob that would mean that the transaction log is cut in the middle of a Transaction Log Backup interval and that would lead to a inconsistent Transaction Log Backup...
How does it work with the truncation I still don't understand that

Re: Truncating Logs on Transaction Log Backup
Artur, transaction logs are truncated during every logs backup operation (including entire VM backup).
