I know this is the part where you say its not supported. Thats fine, i just wanted to give some feedback on my testing.
I upgraded a 20.04 hardened repo to 21.04. The backup job hangs stating the backup repo is not available. I can populate the linux host, populate the repo outside of the job. It complains that reflinks are disabled even though they are infact enabled still when i step through the repo ui. I am going through the motions of recreating the repo on the 21.04 OS. If that fails I will rebuild the host back to 20.04.

Re: Ubuntu 21.04 Hardened Repo
So just a quick follow up. I deleted the job, deleted the repo, reconnected to the linux server with a new onetime pass and the job runs now. I think re-adding the server with new creds may have been the fix. It went through the host and adjusted a bunch of items I suspect that was more or less the fix there. I still get the prompt that reflinks are disabled when I configure the repo in the veeam ui. According to the linux server that is not the case, perhaps it doesnt like something about 21.04's implementation.

Re: Ubuntu 21.04 Hardened Repo
galbitz,
I've shared this information with QA team, we plan to review the compatibility of new Ubuntu versions with hardened repository functionality for the upcoming major update of Veeam B&R. Thank you for updating the thread with the results of your investigation!
UPDATE: The plan for the upcoming versions is to stick with LTS (Long term support) release versions for Ubuntu. Please refer to the The Ubuntu lifecycle and release cadence for more details.
