Unable to process workload: license has been exceeded

Post by isaez »

Hi,

After migrating from Veeam rman plugin V9.5 to V10 we are getting this warning: Unable to process workload: license has been exceeded
With V9.5 with didn't get it.
The rman backups seems to be fine. What does it means and how can it be fixed?

regards,

Ivan

Hello Ivan,

Can you please open the license page under Veeam B&R main menu and check the current license consumption across all the workloads? Thank you!

Hello, from what you shared it looks like your Oracle servers are running in virtual machines, is that correct?

If yes, please make sure you have those VMs running on hosts which are covered by your Socket license. It looks like you've used up all your licensed sockets, and there are no more spare sockets left to cover those Hyper-V hosts with Oracle VMs.

9.5 U4 had a bug in RMAN plug-in licensing that caused the plug-in not to consume the license at all. This bug is now fixed in v10, which is why you're seeing an error after the upgrade.

Thanks!

Gostev,

Is correct: Oracle is running on VM's.
I'll ask our Veeam admin to take a look.

I think you can check it yourself (you seem to have an access to the backup console).

Go to License Information, click Sockets, and check there whether the host Oracle VM is running on has a socket license assigned.

Thanks!
