Hi,
I am working on a script to update our VBR installations.
However I found that the patch install runs even when the VBR version is already on that patch.
I would expect that the installer checks if it's on the patch version already, and then reports an error code or something.
The graphical installer has the same behavior by the way. I would expect a version check.

Re: Unattended patch install even if on latest version
Hello Tom
We checked internally. This is intentional.
There is no blocker because we want to allow reinstallation of a cumulative patch for repairs or in for cases with private fixes to reinstall.
If you want to check if a patch is already installed, you could add your own check in your scripts.
We plan to make it easier to detect the installed patches in our upcoming version v12.1. There will be a PowerShell cmdlet to check for the backup server build. and we plan to raise the build number with each patch. That should make it easy for a script to check if the patch is already installed.
Best,
Fabian
