update 3 - read all data
Hi.
If we update from u2 to u3 (9.5), will the backup need to read all data from source?
both productionserver and backupserver running server 2016.
customer has 20 TB data so need to do a full read backup during weekend eventually.
Thanks.

Hi Frank,
There is no such a requirement to make full backups after upgrade, but it's recommended to leverage new relevant features.

Re: update 3 - read all data
but will the CBT be reset so it will read all data?
i guess perhaps with server 2016 there is no CBT anyway?

CBT won't reset as this is not from our side. This is either VMware (CBT) or Hyper-V 2016 (RCT) based.

Re: update 3 - read all data
Frank,
Niels is right. As additional information, CBT in Hyper-V (I see you say Windows server 2016 as production server, so do you mean Hyper-V host?) works with RCT and MRT files which you can find together with your VM files. Those files contain the changes and we leverage those for defining the changes.
Cheers
Mike

Re: update 3 - read all data
When I've done previous updates, CBT on Hyper-V 2012 R2 has been reset, but not for Hyper-V 2016 or VMWare.
