Post by Alessio P. »

Hi
we upgrade a veeam 8 installation to version 9. We use a Emc Data Domain as target repo
After the first backup with new version The deduplication ratio on Emc Data Domain increase to 1000x.
is it a normale behaviour ? Do veeam9 change something on the backup files ?

Alessio, just to confirm, do you mean dedupe rate reported by the Veeam B&R job in its statistics, not DD dedupe rate? Was it a newly created or previously existed job? Full or incremental run?

DD shows dedupe ratio for the data saved during the last 24h/week. If that run was full, then it could be deduped pretty well with the yesterday's full already stored there (just a guess). I suggest you investigate with support engineer, since we can only guess here.
