Upgrading O/S on Veeam B&R 9.5 server and repository

Post by jcurtiss7492 »

Currently my Veeam B&R 9.5 server is running on a physical Windows 2008 server. This server has a RAID 1 for the O/S partition and RAID 5 for the backup repository partition. Obviously, I need to upgrade this to Windows 2012/16. My plan was to install the new O/S on the old O/S partition. This would leave the partition with the backup repository untouched. Before I get started, I wanted to make sure I would be able to install Veeam B&R 9.5 on the new O/S and reattach the backup repository in tact? Does anyone see an issue with this? How would I reattach the backup repository to the new installation of Veeam B&R 9.5? Thanks in advance! Jeff

Hi Jeff, you should be able to perform Veeam B&R configuration backup, upgrade OS and then import configuration into a newly installed Veeam B&R instance. After that repository should be available (provided the path is preserved) as well as the jobs.
