Hello community,
Please help with this scenario:
- I have a VMware cluster with a IBM SAN Storage connected vía FC SAN, I will choose one of the VMs for being Veeam Backup Server (windows)
- That VM will have a capacity assigned from the IBM storage vía FC SAN (to work as the Veeam repository)
The customer wants to use his existing infrastructure (ESXi hosts + storage SAN) temporarily to backup some VMs.
Since connecting a physical library (LTO) directly to ESXi is not supported by Veeam. The above scenario could be considered the same (not supported)?
Thanks
Rolando

Re: Using SAN Storage as Veeam Repository
Hi Rolando, generally speaking, storing backups on VMFS is not the best practice. However, if you do not care about the disk backups and the primary purpose is to get backups on tape using a temporary backup repository, then the scenario is viable.
