V10 Log File Locations

Post by JedTheHead »

I have searched both the forums and the documentation and cannot find what I am looking for - which is log files!

I have both Linux and Windows physical hosts that I want to backup. I have manually added them and they fail the re-scan / agent install processes. Where do I find detailed logs to dig into the reasons why they are failing? I have additional servers that ARE working, so it's something on the remote host end I need to troubleshoot.

v10 B&R, Windows Server 2016.

(Feel free to point me to the documentation I could not find...)

Thanks!!!

Hi, Jed - usually the easiest way to get all relevant logs is to use the log collection wizard under Support Information. We recommend opening a support case for assistance though, since there are literally hundreds of MBs of debug logs to look through if you don't know what you're doing ;)

Thank you, I can do that. Would this be necessary just to troubleshoot server add failures? Seems like it would come up often. The rescan jobs just say "job finished with error" - I want to see those errors! :)

Thanks!

No, not always as normally, the error details are specified in the session.
