Re: v10 RTM DataDomain 7.1.0.5?

We did. We have a large environment with about 30 proxies spread out over our organization. To get everything to work correctly the way we want without a specific gateway we needed to install this patch on all proxies, and we may have either made some mistakes or didnt copy the files on all of the proxies needed. We are going over them with more precision and rebooting each proxy as we are finishing. Testing on small scale is much better. Will let you know tomorrow how it goes when backups are run.

Hi Andrew, any chance some gateway server is involved where the DLL files were not replaced? Like NAS proxy itself, for example, in case it is also used as a gateway.

Hi Foggy

All of my proxies were updated... In this case these are file servers. As it looks like its backing itself up, so Ill take a look at those.

Ill respond when I have some news

Foggy that was it! since they were file server backups and were technically managed servers they have the DLLs on them. I have updated them and we are all good!

Did anyone get this working?

I'm having the same problem with DDOS 7.1.0.10 along with Veeam 9.5.4b and 10.

It seems to be related to the network interface being used on Data Domain - with one I get nothing created in the DD Storage Unit, while with the other interface the backup job at least starts to create a backup file pair (.VBK and .VBM) but then errors out with a 5040.

Disabling ifgroups on Data Domain is a workaround.

I believe there is also a v10 patch which addresses this issue.

Contact support and ask for the DDOS 7.1 private patch. You will need to put it on your backup servers and proxies. It also is best to reboot after you do the patch (which is just replacing 3 dll files in two locations). I would imagine this will work for both V9.5 U4b and V10.

My backups worked fine after we got it working properly and rebooting, It was said that you need to just shut down Veeam services, but reboots seem to be best.
