V11 Launch Event
Thumbs down for requiring entry of a phone number to to be able to attend the V11 launch event presentation. Registration also click-agrees the registrant to "...agree to receive information about Veeam products, services, and events and to have your personal information managed in accordance with the terms of Veeam’s Privacy Policy." I don't want phone calls from Veeam. The phone number field should be optional. In fact, there should be a check box to opt in or out of "receiv[ing] information about Veeam products, services, and events." I don't want spam email from Veeam, either.

You don‘t have to choose „ agree to receive information about Veeam products, services, and events and to have your personal information managed in accordance with the terms of Veeam’s Privacy Policy“
Simply leave the checkbox empty and the registration will work.

Re: V11 Launch Event
There is no check box. I'm arguing there should be one. The act of clicking the Register button forces agreement.

Re: V11 Launch Event
Ok, i can see one, if I use Safari on my mobile phone. Could be some problem with the programming of the site or some law in switzerland, that there have to be an option for optin.

That's interesting. If I switch to another country, the check box appears. I didn't check them all, but United States was the only country I found that hid the check box.

What a facepalm this whole thing is. Won't accept my legit business e-mail or phone number, let alone any random e-mail I can come up with. Sales and marketing trying to collect our data strikes again.

I'm also not able to watch. It says both my email and phone number are invalid.

I was able to join, my colleague had some problems. I guess it's a load problem rather than an email address problem.

Is there a way to watch the 30 minutes we've already missed?

Jason,
The recording should become available after event is over. We'll share the link here as soon as possible.

The recording is already available > https://go.veeam.com/v11
I'm very sorry our marketing screwed up on multiple fronts here, both with the mandatory registration fields, and with the actual event capacity. I'm sure lessons will be learned for future events.
It's also the first time they were using this platform, and it was clearly not prepared to handle the amount of interest this event has generated. I personally had no issues logging in, but I did it 10 minutes in advance (and already there were 600 people). Then I saw the number going up to a few thousands very quickly with no issues. But past the top of the hour, complaints started as all the late-joiners came at once and overloaded the login system.
If it makes you feel any better about Veeam, our R&D had nothing to deal with it although it's not like our own products don't have scalability bugs occasionally
