v5 File Level Restore Wizard and DHCP
I am having extreme difficulties getting the new FLR appliance to work. Everything seems to work fine up until the appliance starts up, but the console is never able to connect and eventually times out.
I believe this may have to do with DHCP. Our network requires that VM MAC addresses be registered prior to receiving an IP address. The appliance generates a new MAC address every time it starts, so I think this is the root of the problem.
Am I understanding the architecture correctly?

Hi Ben, yes that is correct. But we have already implemented static IP option in 5.0.1, this will be out in a couple of weeks.

Ok, glad that I understand it now. In the meantime can I alter the "C:\program files\Veeam\backup and replication\livecd\drv_va.vmx" so that it has a static MAC?

Anton,
This works perfectly.
I had to add two lines to "c:\program files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\LiveCD\LiveCD.tpl
Ethernet0.addressType = "static"
Ethernet0.address = "00:50:56:a2:00:40"
The new FLR is great!
