V6 Scheduling of VMs and Proxies

Post by jcorbin121 »

I read the FAQ on VMWare Proxy issues, not answering my question. The behavior I see is when I have a job that has say 10 VM's and I have specified 3 proxies, the job seems to only schedule one VM at a time and never uses the other 2 proxies. What am i missing, is there a setting? Should I not have 3 VM's backing up simultaneously frolm that job?

Thanks for any help

Hi John, no as within the job VMs are processed sequentially. If you have multiple jobs, they will be assigned to different proxies. Thanks!

And to further clarify, multiple jobs will be assigned to a single proxy. I setup 6 jobs and assigned all of them to the same 3 proxies and the scheduler assigned two jobs per proxy. So I will have to use smaller # of VM's per job, more jobs, and possibly more proxies.....

thanks!
