v7 vSphere web client plugin

Post by wvd »

Hi,

I can't seem to find the installation files or procedure for configuring the vSphere web client plugin.
Am i missing something or will it be released at a later date?

Tnx,

Hello,

You should be using Backup Enterprise Manager to install vSphere Web Plug-in. More info can be found in our User Guide (page 38).

Thank you!

Apologies, I searched but looked right over it in the documentation.

I get an error now if I want to install the plugin:

Plugin registration is not supported due to vCenter server version...

My vcenter version is : 5.1.0.799731
Which versions does the plugin support?

You should be running vCenter 5.1 build 880146 (or later).

What about versions of the webclient?

I installed it successfully with Web Client version version 5.1.0 Build 869765 as well as Web Client version Version 5.1.0 Build 1063329.

GL@MO, you've followed the instructions from our User Guide and still has issues with the installation, then I would suggest contacting our support team and reviewing installation log files. BTW, are you using the vCenter Server appliance by any chance?

Hi Vitaly,

If you mean plugin installation via EM website, yes. It still says vCenter server version 5.0.xxxx
Could I maybe have entered wrong credentials for accessing web client? It was asking once but does not ask anymore.

Not using appliance, I am using a 2k8 R2 server wwith the vcenter installation

Have you tried to recollect vCenter Server data by clicking Check Version button? If you entered wrong credentials for installing it, then I'm sure it would have failed, but you can try to re-install, might help.

Hi, i've upgraded Veeam 7.0 to release 7.0 R2 build 771
From Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager I can see that the vCenter plugin version is still 7.0.0.690, if I try to upgrade the plugin nothing happens.
Is that correct?
Thanks

Marco

Yes, this is expected, due to how product updates are installed.
