V8-Netapp restore from snapvault issue
hi,
A backup job with snapvault integration (VM are in a vFIler NFS) is working properly.
But i can't restore from snapvault archive, restore point are not visible from the restore wizard.
From the "Storage Infrastructure" view, i can see snapshot attached to the snapvault destination volume but VMs count is still 0 !
From the netapp side, i can see object VMs in the qtree, something i miss ?
Christophe

Hi Christophe.
Do you have NFS Export for Snapvault Volume?

Re: V8-Netapp restore from snapvault issue
To detect a VM's on the volume via NFS we need nfs export feature. That is why we have successfully found VMs on the primary volume, but did not find on the Snapvault volume. Thus you cannot see VMs. You can try doing the nfs export manually and then start a rescan volume operation.
In our next updates, we will consider adding automatic nfs exports creation to the SnapMirror/SnapVault volumes. Thanks for the feedback!

Re: V8-Netapp restore from snapvault issue
Hi everybody!
I have a smiliar issue.
I Using iscsi instead of NFS for mapping LUNs to VMware.
Backup and Restore with Veeam and SAN Integration works well but restore from Snapvault Show me only the snapshots (daily), reported size of the VM but no Count?
Should be the something Special with iSCSI? We dont use that for production...
thanks

Re: V8-Netapp restore from snapvault issue
Problem solved.
1. iSCSI on secondary (SV Destination) must be startet.
2. Rescan on seondary head/volume (Storage Infracstructure)
as result:
vm should be displayed and could used for Recovery Processes...

Hi Taner,
Yes, that's right. Even if you don't use iSCSI in production, this service should be enabled to get the VMs count and other details.
Thanks!
