v9 Availability - Any hint?
Is there any indication/hint as to the release date for v9 yet?
It seems to have gone all quite on the western front and we have started to get questions from customers as to whether there is a major issue holding up release?
Any indication would be nice. This week, next week, before Christmas, within the next 6 months!

Re: v9 Availability - Any hint?
We are planning to end up with the first RC build this week, actually.
RTM is planned for December, and GA within a few weeks after that.

RC = Release Candidate
RTM = Release To Manufacturing (R&D ships the final code)
GA = General Availability (up to marketing, but minimum 2 weeks after RTM)

By the way, partners will get the RTM code as soon as it ships (for educational and demo purposes).

Hi Glenn,
Quoting last weekly forum digest with the latest info:
Quoting last weekly forum digest with the latest info:
As far as the actual v9 release time frames, our R&D is planning to ship v9 RTM (Release To Manufacturing) build this week! Just like with v8, this release will not become generally available immediately though, as we need to provide 1000+ of our Veeam Cloud Connect service providers a few weeks to transition from v8 to v9, and to deploy our new Cloud Connect Replication functionality. So, we are probably talking about general availability after the holidays season. However, we are planning to immediately provide the RTM code to our partners for educational and demo purposes - and to pilot this new release in their labs before we make it available to our joint customers.

Every single active Veeam ProPartner will receive the link to RTM download on their contact email address. The ecard should go out tomorrow hopefully - RTM build was signed off back on Monday, but there have been some logistical delays... first with making it available for download, and now with the actual ecards

Can't we just get a plain text link to the download without any Eye Candy?

If you are a partner, have a chat with your local SE or Partner manager, and I'm sure they can help you out.

Re: v9 Availability - Any hint?
Any chance we can get at the user/admin docs? Or have they still to be written
Been running the v9 for a few days and its looking good functionally. Just want to check out the details of some of the additional functions.
Only issues seem to be with running the console remotely. Some of the screens and drop downs seem to break if you try to access them remotely (fine if you are running it locally on the backup server).
Suspect this may be a timing/refresh issue.

Hi Scott, that's right, official documentation is still being updated/finalized.

If you mean scaling problems (texts looks too big and buttons are outside of window border) - it is the result of non-100% DPI on your desktop.scott.anderson wrote: Only issues seem to be with running the console remotely.
