VBR server as proxy for another VBR?

Post by davegold »

Hi,

Can a VBR server be a proxy for another VBR server?

We have two sites that we'll cross replication between. Both are primary sites, so we want each to have its own backup server.

Since we need to replicate, we need to have a proxy at both sites; we were hoping that we could make the VBR server at site 2 be the proxy for the site 1's replication, and vice-versa.

Anyone tried this?

Hi Dave,

Since backup proxy servers can be shared between multiple backup servers, it should work, but keep in mind that the number of concurrent tasks per proxy is counted within each backup server independently.

Thanks!

The other thing I would advise to make sure both Veeam servers use the exact same version of Veeam B&R at all times.
