VBRCatalog grows to much

VBRCatalog grows to more than 8GB. I changed the default 3 months to 1 month via the Enterprise Manager>>Setting>>Session History, but the size of the VBRCatalog folder doesn't change.

However, when I look in the folder, the space is not in the Index folder but in the 'Machine\<virtual machine>' folder".
For example "C:\VBRCatalog\Machine\DC". Can I just remove folders from here with impunity?

This is also VM index data so can be manually deleted if you need to release space. There's a chance it is not removed automatically according to the new index retention setting (or at least not immediately).
