Veeam 6.5 Restore Mailbox Exchange 2007

Hello,

We have been using Veeam 6.5 for a couple of weeks now.
Is there any way to restore a single mailbox or email from our Exchange 2007 envoirement?
A workaround or something?

Since Veeam Explorer supports only 2010 and 2013 version, the only way I can come up with is to utilize Instant VM Recovery.

So, Exchange server needs to be instantly recovered from a given backup file, then you have to connect to it via Outlook client, and copy required item into .pst file. Then, import this item to production Exchange, again using Outlook client.

Otherwise, you can put into use Exchage U-AIR wizard.

Then I also have to recover a domain controller in a separate vlan network on my ESX envoirment
And also i need free space on my HP Eva P6000 for both servers. I costs me relatively a lot of time to restore something very small.
File recovery is so very easy i wish that mail was also so easy to recover..

Is there also no function in Veeam 7 for exchange 2007?

You can utilize SureBackup functionality to turn on selected VMs (DC, Exchange) directly from backups.
That will not require additional space at your ESX datastore and all network isolation will be done for you by job itself.

Just wanted to add my request to add Exchange 2007 support to Veeam Explorer... it's a super-easy utility and I still have a lot of customers running this Exchange version.

Marco, chances that Veeam Explorer for Exchange will ever support Exchange 2007 are minimal.
