Veeam 6.x with MSSQL 2012 Ent
Is there any known issues with Veeam 6.x using MSSQL 2012 Ent as its backend DB engine? Is 2012 officially supported?

SQL Server 2012 is currently not supported, but we will add support to it in the next release.

We tried (spent a few days), but appeared that changes required on our side to support that are too big... we did not want to delay 6.1, especially provided that SQL upgrades are typically always lagging behind severely in big SQL shops. I know some customers who have just completed the upgrade to SQL 2005

Yeah, I think just some new features in SQL 2012 have a very strong use case for a new project that is being deployed and is speeding up our implementation for this one project. We do have plenty of old SQL servers still in use though.

Wait... What exactly does "not supported" mean? I'm upgrading my DB server to 2012 Enterprise tomorrow night and I really need the backups to work.

No worries, your backup jobs will work. SQL Server 2012 is not supported as the backend database of Veeam B&R.

Just out of curiosity, what are the biggest ones? I did not really follow SQL 2012 release closely, so I'd be interested to learn.chadtandy wrote:Yeah, I think just some new features in SQL 2012 have a very strong use case for a new project

With the release of version 6.5 is SQL 2012 now supported?
