Good Morning
Have just seen the new Malware scan feature for SureBackup jobs.
Does anyone have any information on what antivirus engine is being used?

Re: Veeam 9.5 U4 SureBackup - Malware Scan
Hi Brennan,
There is no antivirus engine delivered with U4. The way to get it working is to install the AV engine on the mount server and that AV engine needs to support command line.
You will find a AntivirusInfos.xml file under %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Mount Service. That file contains predefined settings for Symantec, ESET and Windows Defender. (My personal tip, look at that last one as it probably gives you another engine to scan and it is very easy to setup).
But if you have a AV engine that supports CLI, then you can create settings yourself in that XML file and use it with our secure restore
Hope it helps
Mike

Mike is correct.
Secure Restore will work for everyone out of the box, because of its support for Windows Defender, which is present on all mount servers by default. However, you can use your preferred AV program instead, so long as it has basic command line interface. Just remember to install the AV program as well as the modified configuration file on all mount servers assigned to your backup repositories.
Thanks!
