Veeam and Readonly for a SAN volume

Post by mellerbeck »

I have been discussing with some EqualLogic people about adding the ability to give read only access to a single initiator. Are you aware of other SAN's that have this ability? I don't think that veam really 'mounts' the volume does it? He was wondering if windows could mount a read only volume. I'm trying to give them feedback so they might implement this, so any comments or pointers would be great!

Michael, no we do not mount the volume in Windows; moreover disabling Windows automount is one of the requirements for setting up direct SAN access mode (just like previously with VCB).

I believe that HP EVA allows to configure read-only access to LUN, but it would be best if someone who actually has it confirms.
