Veeam B&R and vSAN ESA integrations

I would like to know if there are any future integrations between Veeam B&R and vSAN, specifically I would like to know if there are plans to integrate with new native VMware vSAN Data Protection snapshots

We can not really comment about features here that are not announced in general.

But I can share, that we are working with VMware on their API sets to enable this functionality really to external backup software processing without limitations.

Are there any news on this? I've been told it's supported on 12.3, but I don't get how it actually works if snapshots don't create a readonly vmdk.

We support vSAN-ESA for standard VM backups in VBR. However, integration with VMware's additional Data Protection features is not currently supported.

- Snapshots vSAN File Services Integration
- Integration with vSAN Data Protection (vSAN Snapshots).

These features are part of vSphere Foundation VVF a “fairly” affordable license ...
