Veeam B&R Full 9.5 U4 Install
Hi All,
I'm having some issues with installing Veeam Community Edition 9.5 u4.
When installing, the software will install SQL Express but then fail after the install.
I've loaded SQL Management Studio and checked to find it has created a DB. For some reason it can't get past this point.
I've tried manually installs SQL Express (the version that comes with the install package for veeam) and manually created a DB and even set the permissions. If I then do an advanced install and input the SQL DB details for what I have created it tests and seems to detect the DB no issue. I then continue the install and get the same error.
I've checked logs but there's nothing specific I can see that shines a light.
Is there any sure fire way to get this done beyond reinstalling the OS?
Regards,
RustiferCH.

Hi Chris and welcome to the Veeam community!
Have you tried to deploy the product on the other machine?
It doesn't seem the error related to the installation package, it looks more like the OS or permissions issue. Thanks!

The best way to ensure you will have no issues deploying Veeam is to use a clean OS install. Otherwise, only God knows what system or security settings previously installed software or administrators themselves may have modified.
However, if you want to pursue installing Veeam on this particular server, our support engineers should be able to tell you what is the issue by looking at MSI logs.

Re: Veeam B&R Full 9.5 U4 Install
I am definitely keen on getting installed on the current PC/OS.
Where might I find a useful log file? The ones that get generated by default don't appear to be super useful.
Can I trigger the install via an MSI somehow and view the MSIEXEC logs?

We don't have this information. Please open a support case, and they will assist you with obtaining the required log files.

IIRC, MSI has it's own CLI commands. /L*V with an output path should give you a proper log. Google helps here a ton.
