Veeam B&R ISO is 9.5-GB and version numbers
Just an observation that the ISO for Veeam v11.0.1.1161_2021211 is 9.5-GB. It's not really a complaint, it just seems unnecessarily large. While you're here, what's up with that version number? Is 11.0.2 really that difficult?
Thank-you for your time.

Hello,
the observation is right, yes. Well, customers who use all features (plug-ins, agents) might have a different opinion
Yes, that version number is intended. It was explained in the forum digest from 07th December 2020

Best regards, forum digest wrote:You may notice the patch has an unusual name this time. While previously I kept referring to it as the Cumulative Patch 3 (next in order), the actual name is 20201202, which is the date when it was built. The reason is that with this patch, we piloted the new process of creating updates which is less time consuming. This new process should allow us to ship cumulative roll ups of most downloaded hotfixes more often in the future. So, to make things simple and automated, we decided to just use the current date for patch naming. The new process guarantees that the latter patches will always contain all hotfixes included in any former ones, so no matter of your current patch level, you will always only need to install the latest patch. Further, it's not going to be a problem to skip some because the hot fixes included in them are not important for your deployment.

[MERGED] Veeam patch numbering
Hi guys, the patch format is really complicated to read, I feel dyslexic trying to match latest patch available on Veeam forums and product installed. Even more I've just checked a customer installation (Help --> About) and just say build 11.0.1.1261

Re: Veeam B&R ISO is 9.5-GB and version numbers
IMHO this is still way better than Microsoft KB article approach to patches for example, with those long KB numbers having no added value.
While with our approach, it's immediately obvious that Hannes has a pretty fresh patch level, while Marco has no patches at all.
