Veeam B&R issue with 2 different vCenter
Hello,
Has anyone ran into issue with problem with 2 vCenter? In my case - we originally have veeam backup the vm via vCenter 4.1 but then we introduce vCenter 5.0 and slowly migrate them off 4.1 - this is where all my problem begins...
Working with support - we gotten a few VMs to backup but I am still having issue with adding new VM to the backup or modifying an existing one.
I am getting error in Virtual Machines tab when I want to expand it "Host not found. Id: [7b17a191-f58e-4799-bf32-30ceb66fd516]"
I also can't modify an existing job because it complains the same error message.
/Thomas

Anyone have a solution to the question asked above? I am in the same exact boat.

Re: Veeam B&R issue with 2 different vCenter
I looked up the support case notes and they are pretty confusing, as the issue above looks to have appeared after running a SQL script provided by our support to correct the original issue that this support case was opened for. If I understand the notes correctly, this issue was fixed by re-creating the job. Hope this helps!

I found the answer to the Host not found. ID [GUID] problem.
Look in your database under the Folder_Host table.
In there you should see the GUID that Veeam is complaining about. Delete the row. Presto problem solved open up Veeam again and you might get an error for ANOTHER GUID, repeat the process until you dont get an error when opening up Veeam.
This worked for us on 6.5 and we are back up and running. We had moved our vCenter server to a new physical host when we encountered the issues w/veeam.

Thanks for sharing. I would add though that direct interaction with Veeam B&R database is generally not recommended and should better be performed with the help of technical support.
