Hello. We are using Veeam B&R 9.5 4b running on a windows 10 VM. It is pointing via ISCSI to a Freenas that was formatted ReFS (from a windows server). It seems it via ISCSI just fine. The backups run fine for about 1 week and they fail with the following message
Error: File does not exist. File: [Z:\Backups\HOST1\HOST1D2019-11-07T100844_16A0.vib]. Failed to open storage for read access. Storage: [Z:\Backups\HOST1\HOST1D2019-11-07T100844_16A0.vib]. Failed to download disk. Reconnectable protocol device was closed. Failed to upload disk. Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}.
So is ReFS via ISCSI a supported configuration as a backup target.? I have read conflicting news on this. Or should we bail on ReFS and go with CIFS? We were hoping to take advantage of ReFS. Or perhaps the issue is with FreeNAS.
Thanks for any input.
Dave

Re: Veeam B&R to Freenas ISCSI - REFS
Yes, ReFS via iSCSI is a supported configuration that is fairly common. So, must be something with your storage device, network, iSCSI server or iSCSI initiator configuration.
In any case, no matter what happens, don't go with CIFS on FreeNAS... you will see the corresponding recommendation right in the backup repositories dashboard, if you try to set this up.
