Veeam B&R Trial Lincensed

Post by risat01 »

Case #06336135
Good afternoon, currently I'm just learning about Veeam B&R and want to practice, so can I practice with the concept of using a (local) laptop with Veeam installed? then I want to backup the virtual server that I installed in VMWare. is it possible?

because when I wanted to add a server in the "virtual infrastructure" menu I got an error like this. is there a solution?

Hello Ridwan

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately the screenshot is missing from the forum post.
I also want to note, always upload a log package to the case. Logs are missing in the case. Only a screenshot of the error message is available. How to collect Logs with the backup console: https://www.veeam.com/kb1832

Back to your question. You must first add your ESXI host to Veeam. I cannot see on the screenshot what machine you are adding. It's blurred out. But you need to add the ESXI or vCenter server, not the VM you want to protect.

Is it VMware vSphere or something else (VMware Workstation, for instance)? In other words, you are trying to add ESXi or vCenter server to a backup console? If so, kindly, check whether the user names are specified correctly and the firewall is properly configured (more information can be found here). Thanks!
