Read some good news about veeam backup 4 coming with a lot of new stuff.
As you're certainly aware of other backup solutions, what are the veeam's unique features ?

Re: Veeam backup 4 advantages
Have you had a chance to view the video linked in Veeam Backup 4.0 Announcement sticky topic? We have a slide there with "1st and only" bullets for some existing features, this is what makes Veeam Backup (current version) unique today. Plus, all 3 major features of Veeam Backup 4.0 discussed later in the video are unique and first to the market as well.

Re: Veeam backup 4 advantages
Great.
If I understand well, major advantages are :
-(much) faster incremential backup/replication, and the new perspective this offers
- ability to backup fault tolerant vm
- replica seeding for slow links, allowing replication over Wan
plus all advantages veeam has since version 3.
Did I forget something ?

Re: Veeam backup 4 advantages
From major features, you forgot:
- thin-provisioning support for backup (other solutions backup and restore thin provisioned disks as thick - just like current version of Veeam Backup does)
- full vStorage API support (this is important because VCB is being discontinues and all new functionality, like FT VM backup, will only be available through vStorage API)
Plus there are a bunch of smaller features too, like hot VM copy jobs, safe snapshot removal, transactional storage that won't corrupt on backup server crash etc. - see What's New for full list of those features. Most of these features are either completely unique, or not present in most solutions.
