Veeam Backup and Replication Server Patching
Is there any possibility to patch standalone Veeam Backup and Replication Server? We have provisions to have our native Windows server updated and patched through WSUS but is there any possible way to patch Veeam?

Re: Veeam Backup and Replication Server Patching
Hello,
I don't believe that WSUS can update Veeam. But you can update / patch Veeam servers with command line
For major versions upgrade, please note the last section: Unattended Upgrade
In case you were asking for Windows updates (this is Veeam forum, but just in case): I would go with automatic updates. Or ask on a Windows forum
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Veeam Backup and Replication Server Patching
Thanks Hannes for the reply!
Yeah I only meant for Veeam patches not Windows Server. Sorry for the confusion
If I understood this correctly, Veeam doesn't have any schedules to release its patches. In that way all the patches have to be manually downloaded first before pushing those through script for silent installations. There is no way to automate the patching process.
Same goes with the update, we need to reinstall the new version if we need this to be automated and unattended.
Is that right?
Thanks,
Ankush

Re: Veeam Backup and Replication Server Patching
Hello,
correct, Veeam patches and updates are released when they are needed (not every "patch-Tuesday").
You can automate the downloading process, but there is no built-in download functionality in VBR. Backup servers should not have internet access anyway.
Correct, automating Veeam updates means unattended installation.
Best regards,
Hannes
