Hello
I think capacity calculator not correct when REFS/XFS setting not selected. https://calculator.veeam.com/vbr/
My inputs:
Source Data: 30 TB
Daily Change: %0
Yearly Growth: %0
Scope for Growth: 1 year
Reduction: %0
Retention 7 days.
Calculation Summary: 83.7 TB. Workspace 23.7 TB. Full Backup 60 TB
I dont understand this number. How 30 TB full backup and 6 days incremental is 60 TB?! Daily change and growth are 0%.
When REFS/XFS is selected calculation summary is 53.7 TB. Correct number.

Re: Veeam Backup Capacity Calculator
Hi Mehmet
The calculator is using Forwards Incrementals with Weekly Fulls. This is noted in the info button near the Primary backup policy. The calculator doesn't allow you to calculate a Forever Forward Incremental Chain.
For me it looks like it's adding the next full from the second week, if you choose 7 days as the retention period.
- 1 Full plus 6 increments
- 1 Full of the following week
I let the team behind the calculator know.
Best,
Fabian
