Hello!
I just want to ask does Veeam supports backing up of DB2 running on IBM i V7R3M0?
Also, what about Power VM, AIX and Oracle VM?
If so what is its process and is it agentless or agent-based approached?

Re: Veeam Backup Compatibility DB2, IBMi, PowerVM, AIX and Oracle VM
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
Looks like your environment is not really a good fit for our software
DB2 on IBMi: no support (you can dump backups to a network share and from there we could back it up via NFS / SMB)
PowerVM: agent-based approach for the VMs running on PowerVM. Today only AIX on PPC is supported
AIX: yes, via agent
Oracle VM: yes, via agent. Question: which Oracle VM? The old Xen-based (OVM) or the modern KVM-based (OLVM)?
Best regards,
Hannes

@HannesK
Any changes to this? We are evaluating RHEL on PowerVM for our SAP environment (not for the DBs, only for the OS). Agent based backup will be possible, what other limitations are there. I guess no Surebackup, what about InstantRecovery? Currently we only have snapshot based backups and 0 agents.

Red Hat Linux on Power is supported today, yes. See system requirements. If the RHEL version you are using is missing, please let us know (also whether Power 9 or 10). I remember we are working on RHEL 9.4 to have that supported soon.
Correct, no SureBackup, no Instant recovery. It's file-based backup, which means no change block tracking or anything like that. But for OS only backup that should be okay. For the databases one would use the database plugins (out of scope, but just to be complete here).
