Hi,
Veeam v. 9.5
A backup copy (forward incremental) has thrown error file .vib not exist due to that file deleted accidentally.
Code: Select all
Error : Processing xxxError: File does not exist. File: [/data/xxx/xxxCopyD2018-07-26T111652.vib]. Agent failed to process method {Stg.OpenRead}.
Veeam restore point image below :
I guess that I have to fix the broken chain but have some questions below :
From picture, do I need to remove all the red cross (unavailable points) or just remove the first unavailable point then retry job?
any suggestion might be a lot appreciate.
Thank you

Hi Watcharin,
It seems that you have deleted some of the backup incremental files. That's why system can't find it.
You should use the function 'Forget' to make Veeam aware of the changes you have done. You can find it by right clicking on vib file in backup properties.
If you have any questions left, please let me know.
BR,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply. As this is a forward incremental, should I forget all other restore points that show unavailable as well? Or just the one that was deleted.

Yes, you should forget all unavailable restore points as well.
After that change Veeam would work fine, unless you have any other issues.

Hi Alex,
Thank you what I'm aware is if forget all unavailable retention, then are backup files in disk backup still available or useless. Then should better to delete all unavailable files as well?
Thanks
Rin

Yes Rin, that is correct way to do.
That is because the Veeam needs to have consistent backup chain. If there is a detached files you should delete them as well.
Let me know if those changes wouldn't resolve your case.

Alex
